Chicon IV was a con with a great organisation. Great in the sense of large and extensive. There was so much organisation that it was very easy for lots of things to become disorganised, so that a lot of disorganisation was possible, and in fact achieved. Had there been less organisation to start with, there would have been less to fall apart, and nobody would have noticed.
After I had registered for the con in the foyer of the Hyatt Regency and received my membership envelope with program book, pocket program (more later) and name badge, I was greeted by the Auctions Dept Mgr 3301.3 (white badge), Art Auction Staff 3321.5 (green badge) and Assistant Masquerade Dept Mgr 4102.4 (yellow badge). Actually, these were Teresa Miñambres, Alina Chu and Midge Reitan, but it gives you a flavour of the organisation.
My badge was black, with a yellow ribbon.
